Look, we get it - nobody actually enjoys reading privacy policies. But here's the deal: we're an architecture studio based in Vancouver, and we're pretty straightforward about how we handle your info.
When you reach out to us about a project or just browse our site, we collect some data. Nothing weird or invasive, just the stuff we need to actually help you build something amazing. This policy breaks down what we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it.
We're subject to Canadian privacy laws (PIPEDA, to be specific), and we take that responsibility seriously. Your trust matters to us, especially when you're considering us for something as personal as designing your home or workspace.
When you fill out our contact form or email us, we're gonna need your name, email, phone number, and whatever details you share about your project. Can't really work together without knowing how to reach you, right?
If we start working together, we'll collect things like property details, budget ranges, design preferences, site photos, and any other info relevant to your build. This stuff helps us create designs that actually fit your needs instead of just looking pretty in renderings.
Our website collects basic technical data like your IP address, browser type, and which pages you visit. This helps us figure out if our site's actually working properly and loading fast enough. Nobody likes a slow website, especially when you're trying to check out project photos.
For billing purposes, we'll need payment details, but we don't store credit card numbers on our systems. That goes through secure payment processors who are way better at that stuff than we are.
We're not out here selling your data to random third parties or anything sketchy like that. Here's what we actually do with it:
We keep your info pretty close to the chest, but sometimes we need to share it with:
Engineers, contractors, consultants - the people who help bring designs to life. They only get what they need to do their part of the job.
Cloud storage companies, email platforms, accounting software - basically the tools that help us run the business efficiently.
If the law requires it, we'll share what we need to. Court orders, building inspectors, that sort of thing.
Everyone we work with is contractually obligated to protect your information the same way we do. No random data dumps or selling contact lists - that's just not how we operate.
Yeah, we use cookies. Not the chocolate chip kind (unfortunately), but small text files that help our website function properly.
These keep the site running - remembering your language preference, keeping you logged in if we add a client portal later, that kind of thing.
We use tools like Google Analytics to see how people use our site. Which pages get the most views? Where do people drop off? This helps us make the site better. The data's anonymous though - we're not tracking individual people around the internet.
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies. Just know that some parts of the site might not work as smoothly if you do. It's your call though.
Under Canadian law, you've got some solid rights when it comes to your personal info:
To exercise any of these rights, just email us at studio@embervynthalquinth.info. We'll respond within 30 days, though we usually get back way faster than that.
We take security seriously, even if we're not a tech company. Here's what we do:
That said, no system is 100% bulletproof. We do our best, but if there's ever a data breach, we'll let you know right away and tell you what steps to take.
Active project files? We keep those for the duration of the project plus seven years after completion (that's the legal requirement for architectural records in Canada). Marketing emails and general inquiries? We'll delete those after a reasonable time if we haven't heard from you. You can always ask us to delete stuff earlier if you want.
If you've got questions about this privacy policy or how we handle your data, we're here to chat. Seriously, don't hesitate to reach out.

If you're not happy with how we've handled your privacy concerns, you can also file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. But let's try to work it out first, yeah?
We might update this policy from time to time - usually when laws change or we add new services. We'll post the updated version here with a new date at the top. For major changes, we'll send out a notification to anyone on our contact list.
Bottom Line: We collect what we need, protect what we collect, and respect your choices. Architecture is all about trust, and that extends to how we handle your information.
